Review : Sankai Japanese Restaurant

Was drawn to the "all-you-can-eat Japanese Buffet" notice and decided to try it.

Opening hours: Opens from 1130am to 11pm

Address: 1 Liang Seah St, Singapore 189022
Price: $29.80++ (lunch daily)
          $34.90++ (Sun to Thur Dinner)
          $37.90++ (Fri, Sat, eve of PH Dinner)

The ambience is warm and cozy. The restaurant is a little small though. It's best to go there during non-peak hours as they don't have enough servers to cope with the growing number of customers.

First dish: chawanmushi! There was shitake mushroom, spinach, and fish cake.

Sashimi salad. Kinda disappointing. a few pieces of sashimi and the lettuce were like, the unwanted parts?

Sashimi and appetizer platter. Salmon sashimi was ok; quite thick and sweet. The smoked duck was delicious and the meat was tender.

Grilled Salmon with salt and Shishamo. Normal, nothing much to wow about.

Salmon mentai aburi.

Salmon sushi, prawn roe and spicy salmon. Quite disappointing that the prawn roe was not filled to the brim.

Soft shell crab handroll. Can't tell right? The soft shell crab was like, only 1/4 of the whole crab? Pathetic. :(

Chicken stewer. Not bad, the meat was tender and was lightly seasoned with teriyaki sauce.

Deep-fried selection: Breaded prawns, prawn tempura, Shishamo kara age and tako yaki.

Cold tofu.

Sashimi - Salmon, Hamachi, Tako, Sweet Prawns, and Seasoned Top Shell.

Chicken wing.

Sashimi - Tuna, lightly Seared Salmon, Cuttlefish.
