Bangkok Trip June 2016 - (4D3N) - Day 2

Must-try street food stalls in front of Central World. The street food stalls had been there since last year. Not sure if the stalls are permanently there. There are also stalls outside of the secured area in front of Central World. Some of the portions are quite small, depending on the price. For example, 150 baht chicken rice probably will get you a half a plate of chicken rice. It's good though, we can always buy a few of the street food and eat more varieties. They sell meat, seafood, fruits, signature pad thai, souvenirs etc.

The linkway sky bridge linking Platinum Mall, Central World and Big C. The bridge at Platinum Mall starts at 2 points: second floor of Platinum Mall and in front of Novotel Hotel.

They called it as the "Banglamphu Market", an extension of the street food stalls. They didn't have this Banglamphu Market last year. There were tables and chairs for customers to sit and eat but it was always full. Plus, it was too humid to sit there. Most of the food stalls sell almost the same as the street food stalls in front of Central World.

One of the stalls that sell a whole big fish. Just normal grilled fish with salt but it tasted really good and fresh! Anyone who likes fish should buy when you're in BKK. It costs less than 500 baht per fish, prices vary per stall. This stall only appears at night, below the linkway sky bridge, at the end of Platinum Mall.

The popular BAKE cheese tart at Central World, 7th floor. Long queue... Not sure if most of the people queuing are Singaporeans? Haha. Didn't queue for it as I was dam tired from all the walking.

Ate lunch at Tokusen, Japanese grill bar & shabu buffet restaurant in Central World, 6th floor. (Most of the restaurants are at 6th floor.) Was lured in by their 299baht promotion. Unable to communicate with the service staff as they couldn't understand English. We were given a list of all the food so we just ticked what we wanted. All the usual stuff that we can get in Singapore; pork belly, bacon, beef, salmon, thai fish cake, mushroom, assorted vegetables etc.

Dinner was all the street food in front of Central World that we bought back to our hotel room. My parents really enjoyed the street food more than the food in restaurants.

Bangkok Trip - June 2016 (4D3N) - Day 3

Soju and rice beer sold in the supermarket located below Grand Diamond Suites Hotel. The alcohol in Thailand are known to be cheaper than in Singapore. The rice beer wasn't that cheap. Just a few cents difference.

Pussy prints panties! It's seamless. I think it's about 120 baht each.

MK Restaurant - must go when you are in Bangkok. Cheaper in Bangkok. Must order the roasted pork and duck! Really good; juicy and crispy skin.

Lunch at Jeffer Steak & Seafood Resturant, top floor. Decent affordable western meal. The price of beef increases accordingly to the weigh.

One of the stalls along the street outside Platinum Mall. The food stalls have makeshift seats for customers to have their meals.

Dinner - Street food from Central World. Pizza was from a stall along the street in front of Platinum Mall.

Late check out rates. They allow guests to check out at 1pm if you ask.

Tae Kae Noi Instant Noodles at 100 baht per pack. There is a small piece of seaweed in each pack.

Fashion Survival Foot Spray (Bangkok Boots pharmacy)

Fashion Survival Foot Spray

Bought these in the Boots Pharmacy. One bottle is about 100 to 150baht, ~ S$6.

Fashion Survival Deodorant Foot Spray (Liquid Formulation) 50 ml
The liquid formation foot spray dry up fast. It promises to help to deodorise and prevent unpleasant odours. It leaves my feet dry for the whole day.

Fashion Survival Antiperspirant Deodorant Foot Spray (Powder Formulation) 50 ml
I prefer the powder formation more than the liquid formation cuz I need not wait for it to dry. It doesn't feel behind white powder on my feet nor on my shoes. It also promises to help to deodorise and prevent unpleasant odours.

Bangkok Trip - June 2016 (4D3N) - Day 1

Took my parents to Bangkok as they never been to BKK before. They were 2 lost sheep and excited AF. Hahaha

3 pax air tickets cost about S$400+ and hotel room for 3 pax cost about $400+ as well (booked through Agoda).

Flew by Jetstar and stayed in Grand Diamond Suites Hotel. I booked the Junior Suite, 1 bedroom. Grand Diamond Suites Hotel is a good accommodation to consider as it is just beside Platinum Mall. There is a 24hrs supermarket, Boots pharmacy, Subway located below the hotel. Burger King and Starbucks are at the same level as the hotel lobby. Convenient location.

Personally, I like Grand Diamond Suites Hotel. No "weird stuff" happening and room is clean and spacious. And it's just next to Platinum Mall. There are also night market and food stalls in front of Platinum Mall along the stretch of street. You can choose between Smoking Room or Non-Smoking Room.

View outside of hotel room. We can see the skywalk bridge that link Platinum Mall to outside of Central World

Day 1 - chatuchak weekend market

Reached BBK at around 11am. Check in at the hotel and off we went to Chatuchak weekend market. The weather still hot as usual. Remember to wear light material clothings, Airism is the best clothes to wear. Best to wear hats as well. The sun is really scorching hot!

Chatuchak is just beside Mo Chit Station, exit from exit 1 and you can see Chatuchak. Chatuchak is only open on Fridays, 6pm to 12am, Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 6pm. If you have the time, just explore. If not, get the map to navigate around. Or you can go to BKK during the cooling season, October onwards.

Half of the clothing in Chatuchak is similar, just that you have to bargain or search for the cheapest price. No trying is allow. From my experience, go one size up when you are buying their shorts or skirt. A lot of their stuff go for buy more and get cheaper price.

Lunch! Cheap cheap~

Dinner was at a nearby seafood restaurant. Out of the hotel, and turned left. I can't remember the name of the restaurant. But it was really not worth the money. The crabs were small and expensive. The other food was so-so. And my parents and I got upset stomachs afterwards! :(
